YUNENG YZS Series
Transformer Oil Regeneration Machine
- The YUNENG YZS Series transformer oil regeneration plant is designed to restore severely degraded insulating oil to near-new condition, extending oil life and protecting high-value power equipment.
- The regeneration process combines multi-stage filtration, vacuum dehydration & degassing, and deep adsorption purification using Fuller’s earth sorbent. Acids, sludge, oxidation by-products, moisture, and dissolved gases are efficiently removed, significantly improving dielectric strength, acidity, and overall oil stability.
- A key advantage of the YZS series is its in-column sorbent reactivation system, which allows the Fuller’s earth to be regenerated 200–300 times without disposal, greatly reducing operating cost and environmental impact.
- The YZS Series transformer oil regeneration plant is suitable not only for transformer oil, but also for a wide range of insulating and industrial oils, including mineral oil, silicone oil, FR3, MIDEL 7131, turbine oil, hydraulic oil, gearbox oil, compressor oil, and cable oil.
Transformer oil is a critical insulating and cooling medium for power transformers and other high-voltage electrical equipment. During long-term operation, oil is inevitably contaminated by moisture, solid particles, oxidation by-products (acids, sludge, peroxides), and dissolved gases. These contaminants degrade dielectric strength, thermal conductivity, and chemical stability, increasing the risk of insulation failure, equipment damage, and unplanned outages.
The YUNENG YZS Series transformer oil regeneration plant provides a professional and sustainable solution to this problem. Instead of replacing large volumes of oil, the system removes harmful contaminants at both physical and chemical levels, restoring oil performance to meet IEC and ASTM standards. This approach significantly reduces operating costs, minimizes hazardous waste generation, and extends both oil and transformer service life.

1. Restores Oil Performance to Near-New Standards
Unlike conventional oil filtration systems, the YZS regeneration plant removes both physical and chemical contaminants. After treatment:
- Breakdown voltage can be restored from below 25 kV to over 70 kV
- Acidity (TAN) reduced to ≤ 0.03 mg KOH/g
- Moisture content lowered to ≤ 5 ppm
This enables the oil to fully recover its insulation and cooling performance, comparable to new oil.
2. Significantly Reduces Operating Costs
Oil replacement involves high costs for new oil purchase, waste oil disposal, logistics, and transformer downtime. Oil regeneration typically costs only 20–30% of full oil replacement, while extending oil service life by 3–5 times.
For large power transformers containing 10,000–50,000 liters of oil, a single regeneration cycle can save hundreds of thousands of dollars. On-site regeneration further eliminates transportation and storage costs.
3. Environmentally Friendly and Regulation-Compliant
Waste transformer oil is classified as hazardous waste. Regeneration allows over 95% of degraded oil to be recycled, greatly reducing environmental impact and disposal risks.
The process supports compliance with international environmental regulations such as EU REACH and U.S. EPA (RCRA) requirements, while also reducing carbon emissions associated with new oil production.
4. Enhances Transformer Reliability and Service Life
Clean, regenerated oil slows insulation aging and internal corrosion, reducing the risk of:
- Partial discharge
- Internal short circuits
- Thermal and dielectric failures
Utilities using regular oil regeneration report:
- 40–60% reduction in transformer maintenance frequency
- 30–50% extension in transformer service life
